Usurper doesn't ease in. It's loaded with our hand selected Citra, Riwaka, and Motueka, stacked together until they take over completely. Huge waves of vibrant tropical fruit roll in first: ripe mango, crushed pineapple, a little passionfruit hiding underneath. Fresh-cut citrus follows close behind, all orange zest and grapefruit pith. A soft, plush mouthfeel carries it all the way through, easing into a clean, mild bitterness that lingers just long enough to remind you it's there.
