Sonne - Collaboration Oktoberfest Marzen Lager - Beer Release
The most engaging part of a collaboration for us has always been being able to share ideas with other brewers who we love and respect. Our tradition of brewing Engel every year brings us joy in so many ways, and for that we will always return to it, but it lacks one thing that has been core to our ethos since the beginning: wandering. This year, and perhaps as a new tradition going forward, we thought it would be fun to bring some friends along for the ride. We asked our friends at Requiem and Wild Fern to join us, and gave them a simple idea: how should we iterate on Engel? Naturally each brewery had their own approach to the Marzen style, offering a unique opportunity to bring them all together. The results are a markedly different beer from Engel, each bringing their own story to the table, coming together this year only for our Oktoberfest celebration.

5.4% Oktoberfest Marzen Lager
A expanded grist of traditional german malts on a base of floor malted bohemian pilsner, and hopped lightly with a special crop of Callista hops. Notes of the rich malty sweetness we have come to expect from an Oktoberfest Marzen, with a present but balanced hop bitterness to cleanse the palate and tempt with another sip.
