We’ve been chatting with the folks over at @lolevbeer for a few months about getting something brewed up and into tanks. Finally the stars aligned after a chance meeting in our own taproom and we got it on the schedule. Naturally we wanted to soak up some oily hops and bring out something bold and saturated…

IN BLOOM
8.3% Double IPA
We took our standard DIPA grist and gave it a little Lolev twist to set the stage for the melange of hops to follow. Citra, Riwaka, Wai-iti Cold-Pressed Hop Juice, and Waimea Cold Pressed Hop Juice absolutely drench this beer in rich hoppy oils for pungent notes of sweet mandarins, ripened peach, and rich resinous pine.

Friends, it’s been an interesting week. The harsh reminder that every step is a chance with fate has truly shaken us, but the outpouring of good will and friends with a kind word of support to share has been overwhelming, and for that we are so deeply grateful–we can’t even begin to describe it. Fitting then that a beer we’ve planned for many months with some close friends who have walked with us through thick and thin would be ready to see the light of day just in time for our shared event this weekend…

Gravel Pit
8.5% Double IPA
Brewed with our bumped up grist for incredible body, and fermented on what can safely be called our house yeast strain at this point, and then very generously hopped with @freestylehops Nectaron and Riwaka hop kief. Absolutely packed with pungent notes of passionfruit, ripened tangerine zest, and sweet sweet diesel.

A few months back we made a post about buying our own canning line, which was a massive step for a small fledgling brewery such as ours. Unfortunately, these big steps come with some very real challenges and it appears we’re in the midst of one…

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve seen some cans popping up in the wild that have not held up in quality. Oxidation, for those who aren’t aware, occurs when too much oxygen gets captured in a packaged beer, drastically reducing its shelf life.

Luckily, it doesn’t appear to be entire batches– but rather a selection of cans in a given batch. This means the canning line is definitely the origin for the issue. Behind the scenes we are attacking this head-on. This includes purchasing new quality control / testing equipment and working with our suppliers to perform additional maintenance and calibration to dial everything in so that we’re confident that we are capturing our beers at the highest quality possible.

Of course the most critical step in this process is to make it right with you. So, if you grabbed a four pack and it seems off, please tell us and we’ll make it right. If you’re able to send a picture, that really helps us track details across time. Messaging on Instagram or Facebook is the quickest way to get in touch. Reaching out via our website works too. You can also stop by the brewery in person if you’re in the neighborhood– during a week is the best way to catch one of the Rons while we’re in the building. Also, if you happen to have a sealed can you’re willing to share back with us, it’s incredibly helpful for diagnostics on our end.

Candidly, this moment sucks. We work so hard to send quality beer out to the world, and to see them be less-than-perfect at all is truly heartbreaking. If you grabbed a four pack expecting a tasty beer and it fell short, we are sorry. But we’re here to make things right so please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you all for continuing to remind us why we’re here. We appreciate everyone who has trusted us to deliver them some super fresh beers, and we will never stop doing everything we can to keep earning that trust.

Been awhile since we had Garden Eyes back in the mix. With Daylily and Full Circle on the taplist it felt right to round out the trio. And joining them today is a new crushable beer for the weekend. Blurred View is a 4.9% Cream Ale brewed to pair perfectly with BBQ weather.

Brewed with a scaled up version of Daylily’s iconic grist and hopped with our hand selected Citra and Mosaic hops. Notes of fresh tangerine, sweet tropical fruit, and a touch of dankness.

Blurred View
4.9% Cream Ale
Brewed in the tradition of Cream Ales with 6-row barley, corn, and rice and then modestly boil-hopped with Sterling hops for a wonderfully smooth and drinkable warm weather beer.

If you’ve visited us, you’ve probably seen us with a @coniglios pizza in hand. We’ve been long time friends and massive fans of everything they make over there. When they told us they were expanding a bit, we were eager to get involved how ever we could. Turns out they had ideas for that too…

Tutti Pazzi
5.5% Italian Pilsner
Our favorite floor malted bohemian pilsner lays the foundation for a subtle dry hop with Saphir hops. Clean and present, with a touch of sweet spice aromatics. Notes of lemongrass, orange peel, and fresh cut lavender.

As always, we love an experiment. As the varieties of hops that make their way into the hop kief format continue to grow, we continue to wonder how we might use them to create unique experiences. For this week’s release we’re exceedingly pleased with the results…

Gilded Cage
8.1% Double IPA
Brewed with our go-to grist but kicked up with a touch of flaked barley, and then hopped up with citra, mosaic, southern cross hop kief and riwaka hop kief. Delightfully smooth with a balanced sweetness. Notes of passionfruit pureés, fresh citrus zest, and a touch of piney resin.

6.7% New England IPA
Brewed with our favorite NEIPA grist of pilsner, flaked and malted oats, and a touch of wheat and then hit with two of our favorites: Strata and Pacific Sunrise hops. Pungent notes of a melange of tropical fruit, candy peach rings, and sticky cannabinoid oils. Wonderfully balanced and easy drinking. We’re happy to see Cassandra back again.
